Limited to two bottles per customer and sold out across the country. M&S know how to create a bit of christmas madness in shoppers, don’t they?Louis Chaurey Brut Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier Marks & Spencer Usually £30, but £10 during Christmas promotion
I have my brother to thank for this bottle. Thanks, brother. And I saved it until after Christmas, so I could review it without being half-squiffy on cocktails. < Recipes (is that what they’re called?) to follow.
We popped open the bottle, poured and drank. ‘Apples!’ We said, unanimously. And other citrus fruits, too. It says it should taste of ‘pineapples’ on the bottle, but I’m not sure about that. It’s crisp and fresh, so it doesn’t need to be tropical too! In the glass it is slightly flat and has more of a fz, than a fizz, but this means it’s gentle on the palate, which would go well with grub. A pâté, or terrine, perhaps?
Louis Chaurey is a good Champagne to enjoy in front of the fire. Preferably on a fur rug. Naked.
