Another champers quaffed at one of our many ‘Champagne Nights’. Picked up because it was two bottles for twenty quid in Tesco. Not bad eh?
We liked it, but we wouldn’t take it to a party. Supermarket branding on the label of a gift doesn’t go down well with any host, it just screams MISER!
12 % Champagne, Chardonnay£18.99 Tesco
Drinking this is like biting in to a champagne apple, or so I imagine, if they existed. Crisp and light; cirtusy and bubbly, with a slight hint of honey.
A very pale, but never weak, Champagne that seems to give you a smile and a wink, rather than a full feel-up.
Whilst it might not make a great gift, it’s perfect for sharing with fellow Champagne guzzlers and I’d even consider serving it at a wedding.
