Being a Champagne fiend, you’ll be unsurprised to learn that my friends and I often get together for a night dedicated to heralding and trying new Champagnes.
Our very own Champagne Night.
We had our most recent one on Saturday, to which I took a sexy bottle of Jacquart Champagne. It’s my second bottle in a month.
Ah, Jacquart. I couldn’t resist the ornate purple and gold labelling on this bottle of Champagne, and its extravagant emblem – a trumpeter riding a pegasus!
Jacquart is part of the Alliance Champagne Group, and apparently it’s France’s most popular Champagne, I can see why:
Jacquart Brut, blanc de noirs 12.5% £24.97When poured the whole glass stirrs with a wondrous flurry of bubbles. Its taste is delicate, elegant and peachy. It is subtley moreish like a packet of crumbly, buttery and oaty hobnob biscuits and equally as irresistable. Its a Champagne I could quite easily drink for breakfast, lunch and tea.
Thus: 5/5
